The reason of our journey is to introduce one of the most stunnig Czech beauties of the moment, model Karolina Kurkova. Czech models are all the rage and Karolina Kurkova is the most important icon of the Czech beauty worlwide. Her face of slavic traits (big green eyes, prominent cheeks and full lips) and her endless legs are the epitome of the Eastern European beauty. Not so long ago, Karolina Kurkova was even considered by Vogue editor Anna Wintour as the "next supermodel." Karolina Kurkova was born on Ferbruary 28, 1984 in Decin, former Czechoslovakia and currently Czech Republic. Since she was a child, Karolina already knew what celebrity could be since her father Josef was a famous basketball player. When she was youg her classmates made fun of her because due to her height she was a bit awkward but when she was fifteen years old a close friend of her sent some Karolina’s pictures to an agency in Prague which made her life change dramatically. Karolina soon landed a catwalk appearance and some commercial and print advertising in the Czech Republic but, as you can imagine, she was destined for higher things in the fashion world. Said and one. The Czech model traveled to Milan to get experience and boost her career. It was there where Karolina signed a contract with Miuccia Prada that would launch her to stardom. An important day in Karolina Kurkova’s career was September 7, 1999. That day a fifteen-year old Karolina impressed Vogue editors in a meeting held in New York City which placed her in the lauch pad for modeling success. All this effort paid off when the Czech model landed on the cover of the February 2001 issue of Vogue. From then on Karolina Kurkova started to gain recognition at haute couture fashion shows and the lingerie giant Victoria’s Secret chose her to take part for the first time in the 2001 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show where she would become a familiar face for the years to come (In the 2002 and 2006 Victoria's Secret fashion shows, she wore the multi-million dollar fantasy bra).

The Czech model has starred in ad campaigns for Celine, Chanel, Christian Dior, Dell, H&M, Hugo Boss fragrance, Jones New York, La Perla, Liverpool, Louis Vuitton, Mango, Pronovias, Rolex Oyster, Salvatore Ferragamo, Tommy Hilfiger, Valentino, Versace, Victoria's Secret, Yves Saint Laurent, and Zeki amongst others and appeared in the 2004 Pirelli Calendar. Kurková is among the world's top-earning models and a familiar face in the Forbes annual list of the highest earning models. In 2010 Karolina has modeled for Giles Deacon, Louis Vuitton, Elie Saab and Chanel. In addition to her modeling career, Karolina Kurkova has started to try her luck as an actress. She made her debut in My Sexiest Year alongside Frankie Muniz, Harvey Keitel, and Amber Valletta and also played Courtney A. Kreiger / Cover Girl in the action film G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009).

Let’s talk a little about her personal life. The Czech model lives in New York City's TriBeCa district. Karolina Kurkova usually attends basketball games at Madison Square Garden and likes going to the gym and doing yoga. She must have inherited her passion for basketball from her father who, as we said before, was a famous Czech basketball player. Karolina is engaged in a long time relationship with Archie Dury. They have a child, Tobin Jack Drury, born on October 29, 2009. The model dedicates part of her time to work for charity organizations. In 2006 she was awarded by the non-profit organization, Women Together, for her humanitarian work to promote the welfare of children.
