Dear readers of sport&beauty. Continuing our trip across fashion and beauty today we are traveling from Brazil to the Czech Republic. The reason of our journey is to introduce one of the most stunnig Czech beauties of the moment, model Karolina Kurkova. Czech models are all the rage and Karolina Kurkova is the most important icon of the Czech beauty worlwide. Her face of slavic traits (big green eyes, prominent cheeks and full lips) and her endless legs are the epitome of the Eastern European beauty. Not so long ago, Karolina Kurkova was even considered by Vogue editor Anna Wintour as the "next supermodel." Today we are going to learn a lot about Czech model Karolina Kurkova, former Victoria’s Secret angel and current aspiring actress. Here you are Karolina. I love her and her hairstyle.

Karolina Kurkova was born on Ferbruary 28, 1984 in Decin, former Czechoslovakia and currently Czech Republic. Since she was a child, Karolina already knew what celebrity could be since her father Josef was a famous basketball player. When she was youg her classmates made fun of her because due to her height she was a bit awkward but when she was fifteen years old a close friend of her sent some Karolina’s pictures to an agency in Prague which made her life change dramatically. Karolina soon landed a catwalk appearance and some commercial and print advertising in the Czech Republic but, as you can imagine, she was destined for higher things in the fashion world. Said and one. The Czech model traveled to Milan to get experience and boost her career. It was there where Karolina signed a contract with Miuccia Prada that would launch her to stardom. An important day in Karolina Kurkova’s career was September 7, 1999. That day a fifteen-year old Karolina impressed Vogue editors in a meeting held in New York City which placed her in the lauch pad for modeling success. All this effort paid off when the Czech model landed on the cover of the February 2001 issue of Vogue. In 2010 Karolina has modeled for Giles Deacon, Louis Vuitton, Elie Saab and Chanel. In addition to her modeling career, Karolina Kurkova has started to try her luck as an actress. She made her debut in My Sexiest Year alongside Frankie Muniz, Harvey Keitel, and Amber Valletta and also played Courtney A. Kreiger / Cover Girl in the action film G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009).

Let’s talk a little about her personal life. The Czech model lives in New York City's TriBeCa district. Karolina Kurkova usually attends basketball games at Madison Square Garden and likes going to the gym and doing yoga. She must have inherited her passion for basketball from her father who, as we said before, was a famous Czech basketball player. Karolina is engaged in a long time relationship with Archie Dury. They have a child, Tobin Jack Drury, born on October 29, 2009. The model dedicates part of her time to work for charity organizations. In spite of the fact that we are entering the final stages of 2010 World Cup we got some time to visit one of our favourite countries and get acquainted with one of the members of the new breed of Czech models, Linda Vojtova. Linda is not as famous as fellow Czech models Karolina Kurkova or Petra Nemcova but, believe me, it's only a matter of time. CZECH BEAUTIES PETRA NEMCOVA

Today’s post is going to be dedicated to Czech supermodel Petra Nemcova. Petra has a terrible story behind her because she was one of the survivors of the Sri Lankan tsunami disaster. Petra was born in Karvina, Czech Republic, on the 24th of June 1979. Although quite young she’s a veteran in the fashion world. A woman of humble origin (his father was a bricklayer and her mother a school teacher) Petra started working as a model after being discovered in her hometown in a national contest to find new talents. Petra became famous in 1999 when she got a role in an American TV show presented by Craig Kilborn. Craig declared his love for Petra and said she would appear in Sports Illustrated before 2003. He was absolutely right.

In 2001 Petra starred in the Frech version of the British comedy “Absolutely Fabulous”. Altough reviews were not too good this comedy allowed Petra to keep on working on TV and movies in the next future. In 2002 Petra appeared in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition which marked the start of her career as a model. Hereafter Petra signed for Next Modeling Agency, Cartier and Max Factor and appeared in Harper’s Bazaar and Elle amongst other important fashion magazines. So successful was her debut for Sports Illustrated in 2002 that the following year Petra was signed to grace the cover of the magazine. Petra has also walked down the catwalk for Victoria’s Secret and many other top fashion firms. 2004 would become a nightmare for Petra Nemcova. Petra fell in love with Simon Atlee a British fashion photographer. They got engaged and decided to have a relaxing Christmas Holidays in Thailand.

As you know a devastating tsunami struck the Southeastern part of Asia and her fiance drowned in the water whirl that devastated Khao Lak resort where they were spending their holidays. Petra emerged unscathed from the disaster although she broke her pelvis and suffered life-threatening internal injures. She survived by climbing to the top of a palm-tree where she was holding up for eight hours until she was finally rescued. Petra stayed in a hospital for three weeks recovering from her injuries and she didn´t find out her fiance was dead until the New Year had already started because Atlee's body was not found until over two months after the tsunami. It took Petra a long time to recover from her injuries and the loss of her sweetheart but she showed a strong determination to get back to work and in 2006 she appeared again in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. Glamour magazine gave her an award for the way she got over after the Tsunami. Petra has also become a writer. She wrote “Love Always” where she describes her childhood under the communist regime in Czechoslovakia, the way she went into modeling and her appearance in Sports Illustrated that launched her to fame. The book also describes her relation with Simon Atlee, how she fell in love with him and they got engaged. CZECH BEAUTIES: HANA SOUKUPOVA VICTORIA'S SECRET'S ANGEL

Dear readers of Sport and beauty. We are going to dedicate today’s post to a gorgeous model. She comes from Eastern Europe, from the Czech Republic. Perhaps she’s not as famous as Karolina Kurkova or Petra Nemcova but a promising future lies ahead of her. Moreover, she has managed to get accepted in the exclusive circle of Victoria’s Secret’s angels, a major breakthrough worth to be taken into account. Today’s post is going to be dedicated to the gorgeous Czech model Hana Soukupova, a real stunner.

Hana Soukupova was born on the 18th of December 1985 in Karlovy Vary a thermal resort located in the Czech Republic (former Czechoslovakia). Hana’s height (181 centimeters) and her long legs made her stand out amongst the rest of her mates very soon and, before hitting the catwalk, Hana had already played basketball in her town’s basketball team. With only 13 years of age Hana started working as a model in Prague, Czech Republic’s capital city.
