This is one of the weirder Christmas traditions I have ever heard of, and very strange, even to me.

The photo above is of a figure some people in Spain use to beat on with sticks. As they beat the figure, or something that is similar to it, they say the words “¡caga tió!”.

Essentially that's to encourage the object to to poo something out. Really, I'm not kidding!

Of course what is being dropped is little goodies like nuts, torrons and candie. After this goes on and nothing is left, the final object is a salt herring which is shared by the family or community.

This figure actually is set partly into a fireplace when ordered to start pooing, for what reason, I'm not sure.

I think Lady Gaga is using up her fifteen minutes of fame, and it seems more and more people are glad it's coming to an end.

The latest attempt from the talentless entertainer was to put a pair of vampire fangs in her mouth and walk through Heathrow airport. How exciting!

You would have even thought from some of the responses from the media that this was an important event of some type. Yawn.

Lady Gaga was returning from a concert in Tel Aviv, Israel, where reviews of her performance were poor at best.

Cited as saying on her website, that "Since vampires are all the rage right now, [makeup artist] Troy Jensen and I thought it would be cool to try out a more gothic, almost sinister look! This look was inspired by Prada's fall 2009 runway show and it is so unlike anything I've ever done!"

Now having seen it, I wish I hadn't. Is this a young version of Marilyn Manson? hehe!

Kim Kardashian is going to have to come to grips that she has absolutely no talent in any way, and I don't really think anyone cares that she put on makeup to look like a goth.

I agree with several writers that she should just gracefully fade away. Her 15 minutes of fame are over, she just needs to take the money and enjoy life, without us having to hear about it.

Body suspension has become one of the more extreme forms of body modification, and it hurts just to look at it.

There are tons of reasons given as to why someone would participate in this, reasons like meditation to gain a higher level of spiritual awareness, or to celebrate a major event to turning point in their lives.

I don't know though. They may be the stated reasons, but because they allow themselves to be photographed, it may be nothing other than getting attention or someone that wants to hurt themselves; a common response to pain.

Either way, this is a growing phenomenon that is definitely here to stay.

Since its beginning in the latter part of the 1970s post-punk movement in the UK, Goth has generated a lot of confusion and uncertainty; not only from outsiders but from the diversity of Gothic lifestyles within the subculture.

To take a look at some of that and ways to combat it, author and Goth Jillian Venters has written a book named, "Gothic Charm School: An Essential Guide for Goths and Those Who Love Them," in hopes of dispelling some of the myths, while also giving tips for her fellow Goths on living in a non-Goth world.

Part of Venters focus is on the need for Goths to just be themselves, and not try to form a caricature of what the origins of Goth in the punk rock culture was, which dwelt a lot on anger, depression and being anti-social.

Pretty interesting. I'm interesting in how Goths respond to the book.

A lot of people have probably seen this photo of this woman who is pierced everywhere on her face, but it never ceases to amaze me how radically she did it.

Think of a blind date and you wonder what she's going to look like, and you find this, and you still wonder what she looks like.

What I would like to see is what she looks like after she removes all the studs and objects and see if there is scarring of any type, or permanent little holes.

Imagine turning over in bed and always pressing into those things.

Assuming she takes them out every night, that alone would take a lot of time. Evidently she sleeps on her back, or has an awful lot of time to insert and remove her piercings.

Hyde Park located in a part of Cincinnati, Ohio, is the home to the Mushroom House, also known as Tree House.

It was designed by a professor of Architecture and Interior Design at the University of Cincinnati, Terry Brown, who is also an architect.

University students helped create the unique home, which was sold in 2006.

Surprisingly, there are a number of strange homes across the world dubbed the Mushroom House, each with its own unique design.

The Thai Vegetarian Festival has to be one of the more extreme out there, and it shows in the picture included, as many participants go through extreme body modification to which "purifies minds and bodies."
I think I'll stick with prune juice.

Besides getting the cheeks pierced with a variety of objects, other practices are being spiked in the body, walking on hot coals, and climbing ladders with bladed rungs on them.

Many of the participants are in trances as this happens.

Devotees believe they will receive good fortune for observing these practices.

When investigating and looking at the Otherkin, it's a little bit hard to pinpoint specifics of who they are and what they represent. But one thing most of those that claim to be Otherkin, is that they are either not entirely human, or they aren't human at all.

Some of the things claimed by this subculture are they are trans-species, whereby somehow they were born in the wrong body.

Others make claims to being genetically different than humanity, citing things like a part of them being different than others, like how much hair on their body or different shapes of body parts than others have.

Another strange concept is they are travelers that entered into a body, and the original inhabitant or inhabitants are still there. Some believe the orginal inhabitant may have even left and others have entered to fill the vacuum.

Some of these things are attempted to be connected with incarnation, where a past incarnation has a strong impact on the present incarnation. I know, it gets weird. That's why I dubbed it a bizarre subculture.

Others calling themselves Otherkin go the vampire, angel, demon, elves, dragon and werewolf route, claiming all of these are part of a non-human existence on this earth, being lived in bodies looking humans.

It goes on and on. Much of it seems to be hyper-individual, and everyone claims to be something not human that comes in endless variations.

What do they do or represent? It doesn't seem to represent anything but to live in a fantasy world that helps them hide from the real world.

Talk about a targeted niche. A new website dedicated to posting on Goths wearing their heavy clothing and makeup in hot weather and then having visitors vote on the sweatiest Goth has been launched recently, and has a bunch of pictures with Goths wearing their usual clothing in the hot summer months.

While I've never thought of Goths in the hot summer months, it is interesting to see them in their extremely heavy clothing, committed to their wardrobe to the end.

Looking at a lot of them, they do seem to have things under control in general, as many don't seem to be sweating much, while others look like they feel the heat.

Interesting concept, but watching the reaction of Goths to the summer heat and how much they sweat isn't something I'm going to pursue any time soon.

But for those interested, now you can check it out whenever you want.

Saying the goal was to showcase a different type of family, this is certainly accomplished with the merger of the vampire theme of True Blood and the polygamy of Big Love, with the result being a human man with three vampire wives who have obviously taken turns taking a bite out of him.

The creator of the scenario said he was really surprised with the results, which astonished him, and will be a springboard to other future works in a similar genre.

Hey I got one - Twilight meets Sex in the City. Now that would be something to see.

The Suicide Girls is a brand that is dedicated to changing the way people view beauty, and has tens of thousands of young women striving to become one of the 'girls.'

As of June 4, 2009, there are 1974 models accepted as suicided girls.

According to them, they've redefined ideas of beauty. Combining the DIY attitude of underground culture with an active, sex positive ... well, you get the idea.

One thing I like from the business side of it is the exclusiveness of being one of the girls, which obviously drives demand high, as numerous young women attempt to be one of the insiders.

Either way, it's a pretty cool experiment that seems to be working, as many young women embrace a different type of beauty which includes tattoos, piercings, and a lot of fun fashion, accessories and hair colors.

When Julia Gnuse knew she could look like a monstrosity after a skin disease devastated her body into a bunch of boils and scars, she decided to take matters into her own hands and have her entire body tattooed.

Julia Gnuse was born with a disease named porphyria, in which blistering boils would emerge as a result of contact with sunlight. Those blisters produce scars, which of course can deform the body and face in unfortunate ways.

As a result of her tattooing, Gnuse is cited by the Guinness as being the woman with the most tattoos in the world, having about 95 percent of her body covered, which includes her face.

With so many tattoos, she has become known across the world as "The Illustrated Lady."

She is of course using the tattoos as a means of covering up the scarring, although they do nothing to keep the skin from continuing to react to the sun.

Who are these defiant girls? - These extreme women and ladies who seem to take everything to the limit?

Women who are pressing the limits are involved with many areas of life, including extreme tattooing to extreme erotic. And these oddly erotic female can go into numerous areas of interest within the erotic subculture. Many being revealed in a wide variety of erotic photos or extreme video clips.

Some of the more extreme women in the erotic area enter into wildly risque bdsm. Many of these bdsm erotic photos and extreme pics of females are disturbing to many, to say the least.

Many of these are tied women who allow almost anything to be done to them while they are helpless. Many times the bdsm actions done to the women are a combination of pain and pleasure.

Many women watching from the outside are hogtied, or should I say tongue-tied over this, and can't relate to many of the bizarre extremes some women will go to to express themselves and get attention.

A number of women like to go the route of extreme leather, while others enter into the role of submissive women. Submissive women? Is that an oxymoron?

These odd women or extreme girls can be found all over the Internet, and there are literally millions of extreme links to the women. Of course a lot of young males already know this ... don't you? ... admit it!

So in many cases these weird women looking strange and unusual, find themselves in the news everywhere, as the media eats up this type of behavior, the major reason behind women doing it.

You can even get weird news of women in extreme makeovers, where the difference between the before and after is definitely weird and strange, no matter how much a taste you have for it.

Of course The Bizarre and Weird blog is dedicated to reporting on the weird stories about people and life in general, including the growing number of strange and odd woman and girls

At this blog, you will find that a weird pic, behavior and story is the norm, and not the exception. Along with the strange and bizarre facts and pictures, there will also be the unique subcultures and fashion that inevitably is part of these lifestyles.

From the strangely erotic women and men, to those that go even a step further and enter into the freaky women and girl behavior, which is disturbing to everyone but the practicioners.

I think you're getting the drift that many women are become extreme and weird people and the weird stories and pics on the blog will tell a lot of that story and the accompanying news connected to those freaky women and girls.

Ok, you get the point.

Another area women are increasingly becoming involved in is extreme tattooing and piercings.

In the area of tattooing, Kat Von D has especially led the way to making the practice a part of the mainstream for women, with about 13 percent of women of all ages sporting tattoos in America.

Some celebrities like Angelina Jolie and her famous tatoos also have made it a much more popular and acceptable practice.

Like everything else though, there are women with tattoos, and there are women with extreme tattoos. Those with extreme tatoos also can get into a combination of weird piercings and tattoos that totally alter their appearance.

Then there are some women who end up having weird full body tattoos, which when they get older don't look good, if they did at all when they were younger.

Add in implants and things get even weirder looking, but even there there are a lot of women willing to take those steps and actions.

I don't know how far women are willing to go to embrace the bizarre and weird, but there definitely is a gap between those that will go far and those that won't.

It's one of those things when you see the women that you know right away if it's beyond your comfort zone.

But unless you're in the tattoo industry like Kat Van D, the erotic industry, or have enough money like celebrities do, many women will find themselves struggling to find their way when they discover their look and lifestyle clashes with most of those looking to hire.

I realize I've started to ramble, when I was just trying to talk a little about the unusual changes some women are embracing, and the extraordinary extreme many women are willing to go to.

Some of you may be highly disturbed by those video of throwing babies off the top of a 50 foot tower, and rightly so.

This is practiced in the an area of India named Solapur, in Maharashtra.

What's the reasoning behind it? Strangely enough, the parents believe their children will enjoy long and healthy lives after being tossed from the tower.

Now the secret is getting them to survive the plunge, which allegedly has never resulted in an injury.

I have to admit when you watch the babies fall and land, they've got it down to a science as far as the baby bouncing and being caught in one motion.

But still, I'm surprised no reports of broken necks or something have ever occurred.
Who practices this? Mostly Moslems, with a smaller number of Hindus participating.

Parents who have their children tossed normally do it after becoming pregnant after praying a what's called the Shrine of Baba Umer Dargah.

You would think just a call to mom and dad would be enough to celebrate. Anyway, what strange practice to toss your baby off of a 50-foot tower.
